Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of April 11, 2023.
• The Herndon NJHS and Student Council are taking donations for the Providence House until April 21.
• The Herndon Boosterthon, sponsored by the PTSA, is this Friday, April 14. There will be daily prizes for homerooms with the largest daily participation. There will also be school-wide rewards for meeting the school goal. All money raised will go towards school beautification and a new sound system for the gym and outdoor events.
• The following are the dress code requirements for the Boosterhon: Shorts with pockets that are no more than 4 inches above the knees all the way around and a Herndon Spirit shirt. Elementary students can dress up in their class theme, but all clothes must meet CPSB Dress Code Policy. Students not wanting to wear the aforementioned may wear Spirit Clothes or school uniform. Once again, all clothes must meet CPSB Dress Code Policy.
• Congratulations to the following students for qualifying for the City Track and Field Championships on April 19, 2023: Baileigh Ebarb, Jahzi Strickland, Richard Morton, Malia James, Justin Dupree, Kayli Kolafa, and LeAnne Schlosser.
• Congratulations to the Herndon Choir and Ms. Arnese Brass, Herndon’s Choir Director, for receiving an Excellent Rating on Stage and a Superior Rating in Sight Reading at the Louisiana Music Educators' Association.Large Ensemble Festival on April 5th.
• If you, your business, or your church would like to partner with the HMS PTSA to provide lunch, prizes, or help during Herndon Staff Appreciation Week, which is April 17-21, please contact the HMS PTSA at herndonptsa1@gmail.com.
