Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of November 13, 2023.
I want to thank all the Grandparents that came out last week for Herndon’s Grandparent’s Days. I truly believe that we have the greatest grandparents!
I want to thank everyone who participated in the Student Council’s Pack the Pantry for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. We were able to deliver 1,360 pounds of food and a check for $500.00.
The boys and girls basketball teams will be playing Karnack at Herndon tomorrow, November 13. The girls will play first at 5:30 PM and the boys' A team will play after the girls. The cost of admission is $5.00, and this is cash only.
Christmas pictures will be taken at Herndon on Tuesday, November 14 for those students who returned the form from Cowen Studios. All forms must be returned tomorrow, November 13.
4th and 5th 4-H members will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 14, at 2:45 PM.
The Lady Hawks Softball Team will play in the Caddo Parish Middle Schools’ Softball Championship on Tuesday, November 14. The Lady Hawks will play Caddo Middle Magnet for the championship at Captain Shreve High School at 5:30 PM. All tickets must be purchased at https://www.locallevelevents.com/.
Progress Reports for the second nine weeks will be sent home on Wednesday, November 15. Please sign and return to school on Thursday, November 16.
Kindergarten will have their Thanksgiving Feast and Play on Thursday, November 16.
6th-grade students who returned their permission slips will travel to Washington State Park in Washington, Arkansas on Thursday, November 16.
The PTSA special dress-up day will be Thursday, November 16. Students may wear a Thanksgiving or football top with jeans. Tickets for this must be purchased at www.locallevelevents.com. No cash will be accepted on Thursday, November 16.
We will have a Street Clothes Day on Friday, November 17. All clothes must follow CPSB Dress Code Policy.
The PTSA will be selling Hawk Treats on Friday, November 17.
Schools will be closed for Thanksgiving from November 20 – 24. Students return to school on Monday, November 27. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
There will not be a JCall on Sunday, November 26. The JCall will go out on Monday, November 27.
The PTSA Meeting and Band Christmas Concert will be held on December 5, 2023, at 6:00 PM. The Choir and Piano Christmas Concert will be held on December 11, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
