Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of April 2, 2024.
• I hope everyone enjoyed the four day Easter weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow, April 2.
• AAGD and Field Day t-shirts are on sale now at locallevelevents.com. The deadline for AAGD t-shirts is Wednesday, April 3, and the deadline for Field Day t-shirts is April 15.
• The HMS Spring Book Fair continues this week through Friday, April 5.
• Second grade will participate in Swim for Life at the YMCA from April 2-April 5.
• North Caddo Magnet High School will hosts an 8th grade open house tomorrow, April 2, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
• The Lady Hawks Soccer Team will play Southfield tomorrow, April 2, at Northwood High School Stadium. Game time is 7:00 PM and the cost is $5.00 cash only.
• The boys and girls track team will be in action at Lee Hedges tomorrow, April 2, at 5:00 PM for field events and 5:30 PM for track events. All tickets must be purchased on Local Level. The link will be sent out tomorrow.
• This will be the last week for after school tutoring for students who are registered.
• There is a dance clinic on April 3 and 4 from 3:30-5:00 pm for 5th - 7th grade girls who are interested in trying out for Highsteppers. Girls can pick up the permission slip in the office. The deadline to sign up is April 2. Dance try-out practice will be April 8 – April 11and the try-out will be held on Friday, April 12. The cost for try-outs is $20.00, and it is due by April 5. Information sheets about try-outs and dance clinic are in the front office.
• Save the dates: Eclipse event at Herndon on April 8; LEAP testing April 17-19, and April 22-23; and 4-H Livestock Clinic on Saturday, April 27.
