Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with information about tomorrow.
• We look forward to seeing grades 1-8 tomorrow. We will get them to class from the carlines and the buses.
• Kindergarten boys will report to the auditorium at 8:30 am. The teachers will come and get them, and you can enjoy a “BooHoo” Breakfast with other parents. Kindergarten girls will report Friday at 8:30 am, and will do the same thing as the boys. All kindergarteners report Monday, August 12.
• Middle school students will report tomorrow to breakfast or the gym when they exit the carlines or buses. We will take great care of the 6th grade and all new to Herndon 7th and 8th graders.
• Middle school students do not bring supplies or backpacks tomorrow. These will be brought on Friday, August 9. They will receive their lockers tomorrow and be ready to place their backpacks in them on Friday. Since Herndon’s policy for cell phones is off and in backpacks, and placed in the lockers, tomorrow will be the only exception. If at all possible, please keep the cell phones and other smart devices at home, but if they have a cell phone tomorrow, it must be off and out of sight, and remain that way before they get off the buses or automobiles in the morning and remain off and out-of-sight until they return to their afternoon transportation.
• Tomorrow’s Back-to-School/Meet the Teacher is for middle school parents and guardians only. Class schedules will be sent home with students tomorrow for parents to follow tomorrow night at 6:00 PM.
• Every student needs to know how they are getting home tomorrow and Friday, and what their regular transportation will be on Monday, August 12. Please put first and last names of car riders on passenger side window to speed up loading.
• Reminder: A-Wing cars will exit to the right onto Gamm Road in the mornings and afternoons, and front cars will exit to the left onto Gamm Road in the mornings and afternoons.
• Friday will be the first Spirit Day. Students may wear jeans, jean shorts, or uniform bottoms with any Herndon shirt that does not have signatures or drawings on them. All clothing must meet CPSB Dress Code Policy.
• Thanks for entrusting your children with Herndon Magnet. We are Keeping Hope Alive in 2024-2025.
