Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of August 12, 2024.
The first two days of school were great! Your children are amazing! Thank you for allowing us to teach them.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the changes in morning and afternoon dismissal. Thank you for following the information about drop off and pick-up that was provided on Thursday, August 8. Once we all get these down, drop off and pick-up should run more efficient and effective, and be much safer on Gamm Road.
Please start your child on his or her regular transportation tomorrow.
Please yield to buses and allow them room to turn in and out of Herndon in the mornings and afternoons.
If your child is a car rider, and wants to eat breakfast at school, he or she must arrive by 7:35 am. The breakfast line closes at 7:50 am.
All transportation changes must be made through the office. We prefer transportation changes to be in writing, but you may call the office at 221-7676. Afternoon changes must be made by 2:15 PM.
Every student in grades 1-8 has received a student agenda. The main ways teachers will communicate with parents/guardians are Dojo, email, class phone number, and the student agenda. If you email a teacher after school or after a teacher’s planning period, you will probably not receive a response until the next day. If you email a teacher on the weekend, you will not receive a response until Monday.
If you are active military, would you please let Mrs. Sparaco know by calling 221-7676 or sending a note with your child.
Please visit Herndon’s website at herndonmagnet.caddoschools.org or the Herndon Facebook page for additional information about upcoming activities and events.
A transcript of this call can be found at herndonmagnet.caddoschools.org. Thank you and have a wonderful evening! ID #: 249242
