Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of August 19, 2024.
• We have had a great first full week of school. Thanks for all your support.
• All middle school students have received their permanent ID. They must begin wearing the IDs tomorrow as part of their uniform.
• Please do not remove the backpack tags with transportation information from your K-2 students' backpacks. The tags need to stay on all school year. If you ever need a new one or information changes during the year, please let the homeroom teacher know and/or the office.
• Middle school Cross Country, Football, Softball, and Volleyball all kick off this week.
• If your child is a car rider, and wants to eat breakfast at school, he or she must arrive by 7:35 am. The breakfast line closes at 7:50 am.
• Tickets are now available on Local Level for Herndon’s1st ever Elementary Family Game Night which will be heldon Thursday, August 29. Don't miss out on this fun family event while supporting our Elementary Discoveries and Gateway classes
• All transportation changes must be made through the office. We prefer transportation changes to be in writing, but you may call the office at 221-7676. Afternoon changes must be made by 2:15 PM.
• Every student in grades 1-8 has received a student agenda. The main ways teachers will communicate with parents/guardians are Dojo, email, class phone number, and the student agenda. If you email a teacher after school or after a teacher’s planning period, you will probably not receive a response until the next day. If you email a teacher on the weekend, you will not receive a response until Monday.
