Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of January 27, 2025.
• The School Store Technology Fundraiser will begin on Monday, January 27. This helps to raise funds to purchase essential technology tools our students and teachers need to succeed. Packets will be given to students during elementary PE on their PE day starting Monday. Students are responsible for returning the packet the very next day with a code to win a prize.
• All basketball games are at home this week and start at 5:30 PM (Monday vs Calvary/Evangel 6-8 Boys teams; Tuesday vs Walnut Hill 6th Boys, Lady Hawks, 8th Boys; and Thursday vs Calvary 6th grade boys’ team only).
• The 100th day of school will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
• Save the Dates: LEAP testing will be April 14-16 and April 22-23.Students need to be here each day, and on time, so that they are not missing vital learning time. As we prepare for LEAP testing, and to keep our A rating, we need your assistance and support with attendance.
• The Herndon Beauty Pageant deadline has been extended until Tuesday, January 28. All payments must be paid on locallevelevents.com. All paperwork is due ASAP.
• The deadline for eighth-grade yearbook advertisements is Friday, January 31.
• On Local Level, there is information about yearbooks, beauty pageant, Daddy Daughter Dance, and PTSA Special Dress and membership.
