Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with some reminders.
 Besides a few hiccups with buses, the first two days have been great! Thank you for your
kindness, patience, and understanding with everything. It is a fact that we have the best parents
and guardians that a school could ever hope to have.
 The following is a clarification of what uniform pants must be:
1. Uniform pants must have real front and back pockets.
2. Uniform pants are not denim, jeggings, leggings, yoga, or any stretchy material.
 Every Friday will be a Spirit Clothes Day at Herndon. Our first Spirit Clothes Day is
tomorrow. Students can only wear jeans or jean shorts. The jeans or jean shorts must not have
holes, rips, or tears in them. Jean shorts cannot be more than four (4) inches above the knees
all the way around. On Spirit Clothes Day, students may wear any Herndon shirt. All clothes
must meet CPSB Dress Code Policy.
 If your student will be a permanent car rider, please send a note with this information to your
child’s homeroom teacher. Please include student’s first and last name, homeroom teacher’s
name, and a parent/guardian phone number.
 Personalized Herndon water bottles are on sell now at www.locallevelevents.com.
 All K-8 car riders will be dropped off and picked up at the north turnaround. Please have your
car riders’ name or names posted on the passenger side window. K-2 grades will start coming
out at 3:15 PM, grades 3-5 at 3:20 PM, and middle school at 3:25 PM. Please be patient with
us the first few weeks of school with bus and car riders. If any adjustments need to be made to
make the flow of traffic better, we will let you know.
 Please visit Herndon’s new website at herndonmagnet.caddoschools.org or the Herndon
Facebook page for additional information about upcoming activities and events.
