Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with Herndon Highlights for the week of August 8, 2022.
We will be welcoming our new Herndon Hawks’ Kindergarten this week. Please follow the
schedule that was mailed to you. If you have any questions, please call the office.
If your middle school student is interested in cross-country, football, or softball, there are signup sheets in the office. Speaking of softball, Herndon was well represented on the All Stars
Team that finished 2nd in the state. Congratulations to Christina Hughes, Gracie Garner,
Kenzingtyn Primm, Shaun Rambin, Alyssa Robinson, Valerie Ruiz, and Kylee Tunstall.
I want to congratulate 8th grader Jahzi Strickland who participated in the Junior Olympics in
Sacramento, California. Jahzi finished 9th out of 51 in the discus.
The school will begin selling cold water bottles for $1.00 on the way to the buses on Monday,
August 8th.
The following is a clarification of what uniform pants must be:
1. Uniform pants must have real front and back pockets.
2. Uniform pants are not denim, jeggings, leggings, yoga, or any stretchy material.
Every Friday will be a Spirit Clothes Day at Herndon. Students can only wear jeans or jean
shorts. The jeans or jean shorts must not have holes, rips, or tears in them. Jean shorts cannot
be more than four (4) inches above the knees all the way around. On Spirit Clothes Day,
students may wear any Herndon shirt. All clothes must meet CPSB Dress Code Policy.
If your student will be a permanent car rider, please send a note with this information to your
child’s homeroom teacher. Please include the student’s first and last name, the homeroom teacher’s name, and a parent/guardian's phone number.
All transportation changes need to be made through the office. We prefer transportation
changes to be in writing, but you may call the office at 221-7676. Afternoon changes must be
made by 2:15 PM.
If you are active military, would you please let Mrs. Sparaco know by calling 221-7676 or
sending a note with your child.
