Hello Parents and Guardians of Herndon Magnet School Students, this is Tom Thomas, Principal of Herndon Magnet School with some important information.
· The second round of Yearbooks sales starts tomorrow, December 1st, and will run until January 8th. They are $60 with $5 optional personalization. Yearbooks must be purchased on Local Level Events at www.locallevelevents.com.
· We are extending Yearbook Ad sales through December 30th. These are for business ads and 8th-grade personal ads only. K-7th students are not eligible to purchase a personal ad but may be included on Herndon business ads. Please email all artwork, photos, and text to JessStaffAds@gmail.com by January 1st. We cannot accept ads after December 30th.
· Congratulations to Ms. La Tonya Jackson and her middle school art class for winning first place in the middle school division of the 2022 Christmas Cards to the Community at Christmas in Roseland presented by Garrison’s Home & Garden.
· On behalf of Student Council, I want to thank everyone who participated in Pack the Pantry by bringing canned goods and financial donations. Because of your generosity, we were able to raise a total of $2,288 dollars and collect a total of 2,107 pounds of food! In elementary school, the homeroom winner of a pizza and movie party, with an average of 9.72 pounds of food per student was Mrs. Claire Carlisle’s homeroom, and in middle school, with an unbelievable average of 25.39 pounds per student was Miss Sally Dickerson’s homeroom.
· The basketball schedule has been posted on the Herndon website. However, the game that was supposed to be played on Thursday, December 8 has been moved to Wednesday, December 7. The game will still be at CMM at 5:30 PM. I apologize for this being on a Wednesday Night, but it was unavoidable.
