All water fountains have water bottle refill stations. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle each day. Reusable drink containers are allowed provided that they have a lid. No glass bottles allowed.
Pro Tip: Write your child’s name on bottoms of botttle.

Hi, my name is Rhonda Harris. I am beyond excited to join the YDMS Spartans as an 8th grade Math teacher. I graduated from Northwood High in 2009 and received my bachelor’s degree. Education has always been a love of mine, especially numbers. I am very energetic, competitive and passionate. I enjoy riddles, brain teasers and jokes so if I’m in the room, be prepared to laugh! If you are not able to pickup Monday, you can contact Mrs. Githens (jrgithens@caddoschools.org) to schedule pick up Tuesday or Wednesday. Items not picked up will be delivered to classrooms once school starts.
Hello. My name is Diana Davis. I have worked in human services for the past fourteen years. I am passionate about service delivery, promoting quality of life, and ensuring diverse services and educational opportunities on site and virtually. However, most importantly I am excited to join the Spartan team as a new teacher.
Hi! I am Jared Jarrell and am a native of the Shreveport/Bossier area. I am excited to join YDMS as its new Band Director. I began my music career as a trombone player in 6th Grade. I graduated from Benton High school and decided to pursue a career in Music Education, K - 12 Instrumental Music. During my time in school, I participated in Spirit Of Northwestern Marching Band, Purple Haze Pep Band, NSU Jazz orchestra, NSU Trombone Choir, Magale Concert band, and The Wind Ensemble. During my Residency at Bossier High School, I participated in a few of the local community ensembles such as the Centenary Wind Ensemble, Bossier City Big Band, and local churches.
I also enjoy watching anime and tv; playing video games; and attending local events hosted around town. I have a soft spot for animals and currently own two Guinea pig named Grizzly and Squirrel.
I officially graduated from NSU in May 2024 and cannot wait to give back to the community!! Geaux Spartans!!!!!
Electronic Devices Policy for the 24-25 School Year
All electronic devices should be turned off and stowed away in backpacks prior to entry at the front doors into campus for the instructional day. Devices are not considered “stowed away” in students’ pockets, hands, purses, or visible locations. If the electronic device is visible outside of the backpack, it will be confiscated. Students may use electronic devices at the end of the instructional day after dismissal at 3:25 p.m.

Hi, my name is Jackson Driggers, and I'll be teaching 8th grade ELA this year! I was a 2021 graduate from Northwestern State University where I was involved in choir and theatre. I'm an avid supporter of the arts and have been involved in local choirs and theatrical productions for over 10 years. I'm super excited to get off to a great start this school year!

Hello. I am Charles LeSure. I am a 1992 graduate of Holly Springs High School. I began my teaching career over 26 years ago at Frayser High School in Memphis, Tennessee. I have taught Algebra I, Biology I, Chemistry, and most recently Special Education. During my career, I have also served as both an Assistant Principal and Principal in the states of Mississippi and Louisiana. I am a licensed ordained minister and pastor of Williams Memorial CME Church located right here in Shreveport. I am married to Dejuana and we are the parents of five children.
Hi! I am Brian Trahan. I have been teaching in Caddo for 6 years. I am an avid lover of sports – especially football and baseball. I also enjoy video games. I am looking forward to coming to Youree Drive and working with the Social Studies team to grow our 7th and 8th grade students.
Amber Smith, a new 8th grade math teacher at Youree Drive Middle School, is a proud product of Caddo Parish schools and comes from a family of educators. She received her Bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University. Amber is thrilled to join the Youree Middle School Spartan community and looks forward to bringing her passion for education and dedication to student success to the classroom. Her enthusiasm and strong educational background promise to make a positive impact on her students and the school.
Hello. My Name is Leah Harris. I will begin my eighteenth year of teaching this school year. I am so excited to be teaching seventh grade Math at YDMS. Previously, I have taught first, third, and fifth grade.
My husband, David and I have two grown children, Andrew and Lara. Also, we are proud grandparents to our two and a half year-old granddaughter, Grey Marie. In our spare time, my husband and I enjoy going to concerts, watching college football, and spending time with our granddaughter.
