Superintendent Search

The Caddo Parish School Board is moving forward in its search for the district’s next superintendent, selecting a nationally recognized firm from a field of quality candidates.

On Tuesday, the Board approved McPherson & Jacobson, LLC. to lead the search.  The announcement of the search firm follows Dr. T. Lamar Goree’s announcement in April that he would be leaving Caddo at the conclusion of the school year for Duncanville ISD in Texas. Since that time, the Board solicited proposals from firms with experience in working with districts to recruit superintendent candidates and oversee the search process. A total of four proposals were submitted before the Board voted to approve the Omaha, Nebraska-based company.

“As Board Members, we’re ready to begin the process of finding the best candidate to be Caddo’s next superintendent,” said Board President Jessica Yeates. “It’s our commitment to not only make sure we are engaged as the Board but that the community’s voice is heard, and we conduct this process with integrity and transparency.”

McPherson & Jacobson is a national leader in conducting superintendent searches. To date, the firm has successfully partnered with school boards and communities to select over 1,000 superintendents and other officials in both public and nonprofit organizations. The organization has led the last two superintendent searches for the Caddo Parish School Board. The search firm will work with the Board and stakeholders to identify desirable characteristics of a future superintendent. The firm will then actively recruit and advertise for top candidates and conduct a thorough screening of candidates before bringing applicants to the Board for evaluation.
