Campuses were awarded the 2023 ENERGY STAR Certification during the Caddo Parish School Board meeting on June 4, 2024. Buildings must perform in the top 25 percent nationwide for energy efficiency to earn the special designation.
On average, ENERGY STAR certified buildings use 35 percent less energy and are less expensive to operate. ENERGY STAR is the only energy efficiency certification in the United States that is based on actual, verified energy performance.
The principals and custodians of 20 schools were invited to Tuesday's meeting to be recognized for their energy efficiency practices.
