Caddo Board Selects One Finalist to Move Forward in Superintendent Search
At a special public meeting, the Caddo Parish School Board selected one finalist in its search for the district’s next superintendent.
The lone finalist, Keith Burton, Chief Academic Officer of Caddo Parish Public Schools, will move on to interview with the Board on Sept. 11.
In its special session, Board Members reviewed applications, resumes and video interviews of six semifinalists brought forward by McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, the search firm retained to assist in the selection of the next superintendent. Prior to bringing forward the slate of semifinalists, McPherson & Jacobson, LLC, conducted an extensive nationwide search, considering input from various stakeholders including parents, staff, students, and community members.
The results of nearly 700 community surveys and stakeholder meetings were compiled and reviewed. Participants were invited to share their thoughts on the qualities and priorities they believe are most important in a new superintendent.
The Board has established a goal of Oct. 1 to select a superintendent. Updates on the superintendent search, including details about the interview process, will continue to be shared with the community through the district’s website.
