Caddo Parish Public Schools -

The Caddo Parish School Board will meet to consider the approval of a Resolution to join the State of Louisiana and the Louisiana Department of Education in the Louisiana litigation against the United States Department of Education. The meeting will be live streamed on the Caddo Parish Public Schools YouTube channel.

The community is invited to attend the Special Education Advisory Council Meeting from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 inside the Ms. Eddie Jones Special Programs Center - Auditorium. 

Eden Gardens and Walnut Hill remain without power and will be closed on Tuesday, April 30. All other Caddo schools and sites will reopen tomorrow. The district will be working closely with our utility partners to determine when Eden Gardens and Walnut Hill will reopen and will notify parents and staff. Thank you for your patience as we continue to closely monitor the situation.

SCHOOLS CLOSED: Due to widespread power outages and impacted roadways, all Caddo schools and sites will be closed on Monday, April 29. We are working with our utility partners to develop a plan for reopening schools.

Amazon surprised Caddo Magnet High with a $10,000 donation to celebrate senior Guangjun Wang, who was recently selected as an Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship recipient. Last month, Guangjun was awarded a scholarship of $10,000 to study computer science or engineering at the U.S. college or university of his choice. Amazon Future Engineer, Amazon’s global philanthropic computer science education initiative, aims to increase student access to computer science education. The program funds high-quality STEM curriculum and educator professional learning to help school districts implement sustainable K–12 computer science initiatives. #wearecaddo #BIGdreamsstarthere

The Caddo Parish School Board will meet in a special session to approve the process for the selection of a new Superintendent. During Wednesday's meeting, the board will also consider the selection of an Interim Superintendent. #wearecaddo

ArtBreak is bigger than ever and today we joined the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and community partners for a news conference to celebrate a showcase of arts programs. ALL CADDO SCHOOLS CLOSED: Due to the potential for severe weather and out of an abundance of caution, all schools and district sites will be closed on Wednesday, April 10. District leadership will continue monitoring weather conditions to determine when schools will reopen and will notify parents and staff.
