All Caddo Parish schools and sites will reopen on Monday, January 22 for normal operations. Staff is continuing to monitor low water pressure affecting Donnie Bickham and Northwood campuses. Our utility partners have indicated pressure should be restored overnight to allow for reopening tomorrow.
We are grateful for the collaboration with our local and state agency partners as well as our staff who have worked throughout the week and into the weekend to prepare campuses for a safe reopening.
We look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow.
MAGNET TESTING UPDATE: Magnet testing for Friday and Saturday has been rescheduled. Please check your emails for new testing times.
Thank you!
As a precautionary measure and to ensure a safe environment for students and staff, all Caddo schools and sites will remain closed on Friday, January 19. Multiple water systems throughout the parish are experiencing disruptions in service and boil advisories, including Vivian, Blanchard and Shreveport. This severely limits the district’s capacity to provide safe drinking water at sites across Caddo Parish.
We are working closely with local and state emergency management agencies to develop a plan that allows students and staff to safely return to school on Monday, January 22.
We appreciate your patience as we monitor the situation and will continue providing updates when new information becomes available.
With the safety of our students, staff, and families as our top priority and out of an abundance of caution, all Caddo schools and sites will remain closed on Thursday, January 18.
After a thorough assessment of road conditions by both district staff and transportation agencies, there are concerns regarding travel during the morning hours, particularly in rural areas and less traveled roadways. Additionally, district maintenance teams are continuing to address issues caused by this week’s winter weather. We will continue to monitor conditions and plan to provide an update to stakeholders on Thursday.
The district is actively assessing weather conditions and working closely with parish officials. We will make a decision on reopening schools later today. Thank you for your patience.
Schools and district sites will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday due to winter weather. Please follow our social media pages for any additional updates as we continue working with local, state, and federal agencies.
