The Caddo Parish School Board on Tuesday unanimously approved using higher-than-expected sales tax revenues to fund a $1,000 stipend for employees. The stipend is a token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our staff.
Additionally, the district is actively hiring teachers and support staff for the 2023-2024 school year. New teachers will be eligible for the Board and $2,000 state-approved one-time supplements but also a $1,000 new hire stipend. Interested individuals can view available jobs by visiting

We are excited to announce Jessica Rambo-Franklin will be serving as the next principal of North Highlands Elementary!
Mrs. Rambo-Franklin most recently served as Assistant Principal of Oak Park Elementary, where she worked closely with the Principal to enhance instruction and high-quality teaching and learning. From 2017 to 2020, she served as Oak Park’s Master Teacher and developed school plans designed to address individual student needs while implementing Teacher Advancement Program (TAP) processes and best practices. A graduate of Louisiana State University-Shreveport and Louisiana College, Mrs. Rambo-Franklin began her career at Atkins Elementary in 2008 before moving to DeSoto Parish where she served as a teacher for 7 years at Mansfield Elementary/Middle.

LaShonda Diouf has been selected as the Principal of Midway! For the past two years, Ms. Diouf has served as a Lead Content Teacher for the district where she has collaborated with principals of Title I schools to guide instruction. Beginning her career in Caddo in 2004, Ms. Diouf was named Creswell Elementary’s Teacher of the Year in 2011 before becoming the school’s Reading Interventionist in 2012. Her resume also includes four years as a Master Teacher helping educators to develop lesson plans aligned with student needs and hone their teaching skills.
Joshua Sims has been selected as the Principal of CMCTS! He has served as an Assistant Principal for the past two years at Huntington High School and at North Caddo Elementary/Middle School for two years prior to that. In his time in school administration, he has intently worked to support collaborative efforts between teachers, parents, and students and has worked together with stakeholders to support individual student learning goals. With experience in K-12 and higher education, Mr. Sims began his career in Caddo in 2013 as a math teacher.
