The Caddo Parish School Board will meet in a special session at 4:30 p.m. to consider the approval of the Revision to Policy GBA (Contracts and Compensation) and Supplemental Salary Schedule.

During June's Caddo Parish School Board meeting, we recognized the accomplishments of outstanding students and employees. Wesley Wynn of Caddo Magnet High was honored for earning a perfect ACT score as a freshman. Caddo Schools is the regional leader for Reach University, which allows us to grow our own teachers. Congratulations to Shelitha Harris of Southern Hills Elementary and Causey Washington of Midway Elementary for completing the paraprofessional-to-teacher program. We also welcomed two special guests. BIG dreams start here and we are reaching for the STARS with our Caddo STARS (Students Teaching Academics and Responsibility through Sports) program. Students from Southwood and Woodlawn with an interest in a career in education are putting essential skills into practice by coaching summer camp participants.

20 schools were awarded the 2023 ENERGY STAR Certification during Tuesday's Caddo Parish School Board meeting! Buildings must perform in the top 25 percent nationwide for energy efficiency to earn the special designation.

With over 44 years of dedicated service in the field of education, Leisa G. Woolfolk brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to fostering educational excellence to her new role as interim superintendent of Caddo Parish Public Schools.
For the last four years, Mrs. Woolfolk served as the Chief Human Resource Officer, where she worked to recruit, retain, and develop a high-quality and diverse workforce. Before her role as Chief Human Resource Officer, she served for 20 years as an Executive Director of Schools, overseeing high school, K-8, middle, and elementary school principals to ensure Caddo students received the best instructional opportunities.
As a principal at Judson Elementary School from 1994 to 2000 and Hillsdale Elementary School from 1993 to 1994, Mrs. Woolfolk worked closely with her staff to adopt best practices and enhance community partnerships. Her earlier roles included Assistant Principal and Instructional Coordinator at Turner Elementary/Middle School and classroom teacher positions at Turner Elementary/Middle School and North Highlands Elementary where she began her education career as a first-grade teacher.
In her role as interim superintendent, Woolfolk aims to maintain the ongoing operations of the school district while using her in-depth knowledge of the district to provide leadership and support to administrators, teachers, and support staff. She is committed to addressing concerns promptly, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and representing Caddo Parish Public Schools in the community to continue developing positive relationships.
The Caddo Parish School Board will hold a Budget Work Session at 2:00 p.m. A Special Session will be held at 4:30 p.m. to approve the search firm for the selection of a new superintendent. The meeting will be followed by the Executive Committee Work Session.
